Tax Exempt Information
The Georgia Center only charges Georgia State Sales Tax, which is currently 7%. The hotel does not charge Hotel/Motel Excise Tax because we are a state agency. In order for a guest to be exempt from the state sales tax, two criteria must be met. First, the guest must pay with a check from his/her agency. Second, the guest must present a State Tax Exemption Certificate displaying the state tax exemption number or have one on file with the Georgia Center Accounting Department. Note: Only credit cards that indicate a State of Georgia agency are tax exempt.
